
We need to deploy every tool we have because as in nature, the greater the diversity the more sustainable and stable the situation becomes. As the BRP progresses funds invested in Empathy Coins together with other leveraged financial instruments managed by our banking partners will be invested in a broad range of projects. The following are some of the game changing projects we are already involved with.
Central to the BRP is the need to restore the planets lost biomass. The footprint of civilisation’s development is everywhere, over the years vast areas of forests have been cleared for development and agriculture resulting in impoverished soils and broken hydrological cycles. The good news is that we have the knowledge and capability of carrying out large-scale land restoration. Funds raised through the sale of Empathy Coin will go into the dissemination and application of this knowledge.

Restoring ocean nutrient cycling and phytoplankton levels using Buoyant flakes. Envisionation member Sev Clarke aims to combine sustainable or waste materials, and to deploy the resulting product in such a way that it: increases sustainable fish stocks; reduces surface ocean acidity; sequesters carbon; and cools the globe profitably, effectively, quickly, and by means closely matching how Nature has done this safely for millennia. Seafields farming sargassum using this very fast-growing open ocean seaweed to drawdown millions of tonnes of atmospheric carbon, create bio stimulants for soil improvement, fuel for bio digesters and pyrolysis systems as well as cleaning up the beaches and preserve local tourism economies.
Delivering the UN SDG’s and moving to a world with 9 billion people living well is going to require an enormous amount of energy and it must not involve the release of greenhouse gases. Bringing new clean energy systems to the market is hard and it takes time but once they get established their growth is exponential as is happening with wind and solar now. Envisionation has been promoting the following non CO2 polluting energy systems for several years and Empathy Coin funding will go into assisting in their development and application.
There is no chemical reaction in these batteries and they outperform conventional technology in every way. We recognised this several years ago and are pleased to say that Enercap now has significant financing behind it and that we have been able to assist by introducing the technology to major players in the renewable energy sectors. Electrostatic energy storage will shortly be available in a laminate form meaning the energy storage can be structural. Electric aircraft with transatlantic capability may become possible within a decade.
Nuclear energy has been around for more than 70 years it’s a mature technology that is operated on submarines under the most difficult conditions. Whereas we do not favour very large single point nuclear power stations, small modular reactors are safe reliable and can be used as baseload support to traditional renewables. Using SMRs the world’s shipping fleet could be made much more efficient and eliminate the industries greenhouse gas emissions.
Environmental Power International has developed a unique Pure Pyrolysis technology which converts almost any type of organic matter into high quality fuel gas and carbon-rich char.
This unique process has no combustion, therefore zero emissions. The process has been developed in the UK and successfully trialled at full scale.
This technology is much cleaner than incineration of waste materials, delivers clean energy and can produce biochar for soil augmentation or carbon black which can be used to generate graphene, the principal component of the electrostatic batteries.
