Empathy Coins
The Biosphere Restoration Plan (BRP) will enable participation through the acquisition or earning of Empathy Coins, digital assets representing a share in the BRP and then through smart contracts to be tied to the health of the planet.
The proposed mechanism, once whole Earth system accounting is operational, is to link coin supply directly to the living carbon deficit: one Empathy Coin per ton of living carbon recovered, giving a proposed maximum of approximately 550 billion coins. This figure is indicative and subject to further development as the BRP and Empathy Coin are fully funded and developed. It is not yet a fixed commitment. Holding Empathy Coins will enable inclusive participation in restoring Earth’s most valuable asset—a healthy biosphere.
The BRP envisions a shift from a world where only 2.8 billion people live well today to one where 9 billion thrive by 2050, driving extraordinary global GDP growth. Restoring Earth’s ecosystems will boost productivity, elevate livelihoods, and generate immense wealth—which must be fairly distributed.
Living Carbon Standard
Using smart contracts, Empathy Coins will transparently track biosphere health, allowing anyone to invest in a profitable, sustainable future. The BRP incentivizes actions that restore planetary balance while making harmful activities economically unviable. Over time, Empathy Coins could evolve into a living carbon standard, reinforcing and enhancing existing carbon markets.
